Permit approved for indoor pickleball court within Bee Cave development<\/p>\n A new indoor pickleball court could be on its way to the Bella Colinas neighborhood area in Bee Cave following approval of a specific use permit at an Oct. 28 City Council meeting.<\/p>\n Developers requested a specific use permit for part of the Masonwood development, which includes the Bella Colinas and Terra Colinas neighborhoods, to add an indoor pickleball court to an upcoming commercial center off Hwy. 71 named “Courtside.”<\/p>\n The permit for the neighborhood services area at 5001 Palermo Drive now allows the developers to build an indoor pickleball court. Conceptual plans for the new development include six pickleball courts, 7,000 square feet of restaurant space and 4,200 square feet of retail space.<\/p>\n Read the full story.<\/a><\/p>\n 3. Plans move forward for new 6-story condo development at Hurst Harbor<\/p>\n A new six-story development known as The Creek at Hurst Harbor, which features 146 condo units, restaurant and retail space, may be coming soon to Lakeway.<\/p>\n A future land use map, or FLUM, amendment was put forward by developers of The Creek at Hurst Harbor to change the development\u2019s designation from commercial and residential to \u201cmixed-use.\u201d It was approved unanimously by Lakeway City Council on Oct. 20.<\/p>\n The development, located at 16405 Clara Van St., was put forward by developer and Lakeway resident Rip Miller and his wife, who purchased the marina in February 2022.<\/p>\n It will include 146 condo units with a proposed height of 75 feet.<\/p>\n Read the full story.<\/a><\/p>\n 4. RM 620 widening project set to begin as early as 2030<\/p>\n Delays on The Texas Department of Transportation\u2019s RM 620 widening project continue, with construction set to begin as early as 2030, according to department representatives.<\/p>\n The project is estimated to cost $250 million, fully funded by TxDOT, and will see roadways between Hwy. 71 and Hudson Bend Road widened to six lanes with new medians. Shared-use paths will also be constructed for bikers and pedestrians along the corridor.<\/p>\n The first open house meeting for RM 620\u2019s widening, in which TxDOT introduced Lakeway residents to the project, was held in 2018, at which point construction was expected to start in 2022, according to previous reporting by Community Impact.<\/p>\n That start date has now been delayed by at least eight years, to 2030 or later, a TxDOT representative said Oct. 9.<\/p>\n
