Motorists traveling through Central El Paso should expect traffic delays and detours as El Paso Water begins a major infrastructure rehabilitation project along Rio Grande Avenue.<\/p>\n

The project, which includes the replacement of aging water and wastewater lines, is now underway and is expected to continue through November. <\/p>\n

Construction will take place along Rio Grande Avenue, Dallas Street and Williams Street as part of El Paso Water’s ongoing effort to modernize the city’s utility infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Several road closures are in effect during construction, including:<\/p>\n

Rio Grande Avenue closed to through traffic between Lee Street and Laurel Street.The intersection of Dallas Street and Rio Grande Avenue.Williams Street north of Rio Grande Avenue.<\/p>\n

RECOMMENDED: Meta data center water cap set at 2.5M gallons a day; average pegged at 480,000<\/a><\/p>\n

Detour routes will be clearly marked, and drivers are encouraged to slow down and exercise caution when traveling through the area to protect construction crews and fellow motorists.<\/p>\n

While residential access will remain available throughout the project, street parking may be limited in some areas during construction.<\/p>\n

El Paso Water said wastewater service will continue uninterrupted. Customers may experience minimal water service interruptions, but any planned outages will be communicated in advance.<\/p>\n

Officials say the project is part of the utility’s long-term commitment to replacing aging infrastructure and ensuring a reliable water and wastewater system for residents and businesses throughout the community.<\/p>\n

Construction is anticipated to be completed by November.<\/p>\n
