{"id":365532,"date":"2026-07-08T16:24:58","date_gmt":"2026-07-08T16:24:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/365532\/"},"modified":"2026-07-08T16:24:58","modified_gmt":"2026-07-08T16:24:58","slug":"construction-underway-to-replace-aging-infrastructure-in-central-el-paso","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/365532\/","title":{"rendered":"Construction underway to replace aging infrastructure in Central El Paso"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">EL PASO, Texas (<a data-ylk=\"slk:KTSM;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;link&quot;,&quot;yLinkElementType&quot;:&quot;article_link&quot;}\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ktsm.com\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">KTSM<\/a>) \u2014 Construction is underway for a water and wastewater line rehabilitation project for El Paso Water in Central El Paso on Tuesday, July 7.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The project is happening on Rio Grande Avenue, Dallas Street and Williams Street, all near Houston Park.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">EPWater said the following traffic closures are in place due to the construction:<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Rio Grande Ave. to thru traffic from Lee Street to Laurel Street.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Dallas St. and Rio Grande Ave. intersection.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Williams St. north of Rio Grande Ave.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">It was noted by the utility company that wastewater services will not be affected, and minimal water service interruptions are expected. Customers in the area has been notified in advance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Construction is estimated to be completed by November.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Detour signs have been posted, and drivers are encouraged to slow down and use caution in work zones.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;Residential access will be maintained; street parking may be limited throughout the project,&#8221; El Paso Water said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">According to the utility company, this project is a part of EPWater&#8217;s ongoing efforts to replace aging infrastructure and maintain a reliable water and wastewater system for the community.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
