A 24-year-old was injured in the parking lot of GM’s Arlington Assembly Plant early Tuesday morning. Police identified the suspect at Larry Hines, 26. <\/p>\n

ARLINGTON, Texas \u2014 An employee was seriously injured in a shooting early Tuesday morning in the parking lot of General Motors’ Arlington Assembly Plant, according to Arlington police and the automaker.<\/p>\n

Police said officers responded around 6:35 a.m. to the GM plant in the 2500 block of E. Abram Street after receiving reports of a shooting.<\/p>\n

When officers arrived, they found a 24-year-old man suffering from multiple apparent gunshot wounds. He was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries and is in critical condition.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Investigators said the suspected shooter, identified as 26-year-old Larry Hines, fled the parking lot immediately after the shooting. A short time later, the suspect called 911 and told dispatchers he had been involved in the incident. Officers responded to his location, an apartment complex in the 4100 block of Viridian Village Drive and took him into custody.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Police said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident, and investigators believe the suspect and victim know each other.<\/p>\n

General Motors confirmed the shooting involved two employees.<\/p>\n

“Our focus is on supporting that individual, their loved ones, and our Arlington team,” a GM spokesperson said in a statement.<\/p>\n

The company said it is cooperating with law enforcement as the investigation continues.<\/p>\n

Hines is charged with one count of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.\u00a0<\/p>\n
