Two apartment units were evacuated Wednesday morning in Arlington after reports of smoke coming from an electrical box, officials said.<\/p>\n
Arlington firefighters responded about 10 a.m. in the 1900 block of Park Avenue South after a caller reported smoke coming from an electrical box on the first floor, the fire department said in a news release.<\/p>\n
When firefighters arrived, they discovered fire inside an exterior wall and requested assistance from Oncor. The building was evacuated as a precaution while crews worked to access the area, officials said.<\/p>\n
Firefighters exposed the wall, located the fire and extinguished it. No one was in the unit where the fire originated, officials said.<\/p>\n
Oncor personnel responded to the scene and isolated power to the affected units, the release stated.<\/p>\n
No firefighters or residents were injured, officials said. The American Red Cross will assist residents from two displaced units.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe fire does not appear to be suspicious in nature and is currently under investigation,\u201d according to the release.<\/p>\n
