PALESTINE, Texas \u2014 Voters on Tuesday approved Palestine ISD’s $60 million bond proposal for a new career and technology education center as well as safety and district-wide upgrades.<\/p>\n
The now approved bond package will fund the construction of a new career and technology education center, renovations to aging facilities, parking and traffic flow in and around campuses, and safety and security upgrades.\u00a0<\/p>\n
District-wide upgrades will cost $38.8 million, safety and security improvements will cost $5.2 million and the new CTE facility will cost $16 million.<\/p>\n
“We are truly grateful to our community for providing the resources to keep our outstanding facilities in great working order, especially in a very tight economy. We will continue earning the trust of our community by maintaining these renovated facilities in a manner satisfactory to our taxpayers. Further, we commend the dedication our community has to the safety of our students and staff,” Superintendent Jason Marshall said. “We will always pledge safety as our #1 priority. And finally, we acknowledge the commitment our community has to college & career readiness.
