A Texas boy is counting himself lucky to be alive after he was struck by lightning inside his bedroom while playing video games on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Vlad Skuridin, 13, got the fright of a lifetime when lightning struck his home in Cypress on Tuesday while he was playing video games in his bedroom, KPRC 2 News<\/a> reported.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cI was just sitting here, everything was going fine. I was playing video games, I was not expecting anything,\u201d the young teenager told the outlet.<\/p>\n 13-year-old Vlad Skuridin was struck by lightning in his bedroom while playing video games on Tuesday. KPRC 2<\/p>\n Out of nowhere, the teen was struck by lightning in his abdomen through a metal piece of his desk that was touching his skin.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cI just jumped out really fast and I started screaming,\u201d the shaken 13-year-old recalled.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was crazy. I honestly thought I was gonna die.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cLike, I did not think I was going to survive that,\u201d Vlad said.\u00a0\u201cI don\u2019t know how I survived it.\u201d<\/p>\n The Skuridin family believes a nearby tree was struck by lightning and the bolt of electricity traveled directly into their home and struck the boy through the metal piece on his desk.<\/p>\n \u201cI thought I was gonna die,\u201d the shaken teen told local out KPRC 2 News KPRC 2<\/p>\n A small fire also broke out in the family\u2019s attic, which investigators believe was started by the electrical current from the lightning strike that traveled through the home\u2019s wiring system and ignited the blaze.<\/p>\n Vlad\u2019s father immediately called 911 and firefighters and local police rushed to the scene.<\/p>\n Fortunately, there was only minor damage to the family\u2019s home, including a hole in their wall.<\/p>\n The Skuridin family home in Cypress, Texas, suffered minor damage from the lightning strike. Mark Herman, Harris County Constable Precinct 4 \/ Facebook<\/p>\n Emergency medical crews evaluated the teen at his home and determined he did not require hospital treatment.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m feeling fine, but I\u2019m still a little shocked and dizzy,\u201d Vlad recalled Tuesday evening.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cNot from the shock, from the lightning, but just everything that happened here is crazy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n While the experience didn\u2019t leave any permanent scars on the teen, he has walked away from the freak incident with a new lease on life.<\/p>\n Firefighters and local police evaluated the scene in Cypress, TX. You just got to be nice to everybody,\u201d he told KPRC 2 News.<\/p>\n \u201cIt can end whenever.
