During the operation, deputies conducted 292 traffic stops and issued 265 citations and 77 written warnings.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The sheriff&#8217;s office reported that enforcement activity included:<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">27 citations for failure to maintain financial responsibility (no insurance)<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">16 driver&#8217;s license violation citations<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">12 registration violation citations<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">2 citations for failure to vacate a lane for an emergency vehicle<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">1 citation for an unrestrained child<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">2 possession of THC\/marijuana reports<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">2 traffic warrant referrals to Justice of the Peace Precinct 7<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Officials reported that deputies averaged around 48 traffic stops and issued 44 citations per day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;Our goal is not to issue citations, it&#8217;s to save lives,&#8221; said Sheriff Oscar Ugarte. &#8220;When drivers see deputies out enforcing traffic laws, they&#8217;re reminded to slow down and make safer choices behind the wheel.
