Sketches of Spain’s closure marks the end of Oak Cliff’s only pincho bar, a style of restaurant that serves small bites. It was a great stop for happy hour, as customers could find shareable appetizers like boiled and fried potatoes called\u00a0bravas;\u00a0marinated anchovies, or\u00a0boquerones; and ham and cheese croquettes.<\/p>\n
The restaurant also served sandwiches on bread called pan de cristal, plus entrees like paella and pan-seared octopus. Customers washed them down with sangria, gin and tonic, beer or wine.<\/p>\n
“We\u2019ve been lucky to bring a little bit of Spain to Dallas through food, wine and good times,” the owners posted to Instagram<\/a>. On July 12, 2026, the restaurant will host a party from noon to 4 p.m. with unlimited pinchos and a glass of sangria for $20.<\/p>\n Sketches of Spain chef Ignacio “I\u00f1aki” Betran, a native of Spain like Garcia del Moral, will continue to be involved in what’s next for the\u00a0company.<\/p>\n “We\u2019re not going away, we\u2019re just changing shape,” the Instagram post said.<\/p>\n Sketches of Spain is at 321 N.
