More Cedar Park residents will see their neighborhood roads resurfaced after the city expanded a roadwork project to include additional streets in the Cedar Park Square and Ranchettes subdivisions.<\/p>\n

Cedar Park City Council<\/a> approved a change to the city\u2019s contract with Lone Star Paving<\/a> on June 25. The change order adds new streets to the project, with the existing asphalt removed and replaced with a new 2-inch asphalt surface.<\/p>\n \u201cThere are always more roads [needing resurfacing] than we have capacity to actually do, so this is great to hear,\u201d council member Darron Jurajda said. \u201cI\u2019ve run on every single one of those roads, and they definitely need it.\u201d<\/p>\n A closer look<\/p>\n Streets that were added to the Neighborhood Road Resurfacing Project include:<\/p>\n Industrial BoulevardThompson StreetValk StreetOak Grove DriveOak Dale DriveSerene Oak DriveCentral DriveCentury LaneCherry LaneDoris LaneFind project information and updates here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Funding the project<\/p>\n The additional street repaving was made possible because the city received a favorable bid from the contractor, City Manager Brenda Eivens said. That means the city was able to add additional streets to the project within the original budget using leftover funds.<\/p>\n The $2.2 million neighborhood road resurfacing contract was first approved by City Council in April<\/a> and originally included neighborhoods near the intersections of Buttercup Creek Boulevard and Cluck Creek Trail, Lakeline Boulevard and Cypress Creek Road, as well as Bell Boulevard and New Hope Drive.<\/p>\n
