A 17-year-old boy was arrested Friday morning in Texas in connection with a fatal shooting at a California graduation ceremony.<\/p>\n
The shooting occurred on June 3 in the parking lot of the Fairfield High School shortly after the graduation ceremony for the continuation school, the Sem Yeto High School. A newly graduated 18-year-old was killed in the shooting and three other people, including an 11-year-old child, were injured. Former Fairfield Mayor Catherine Moy previously\u00a0said<\/a> the teen who died was wearing his gap and gown, ready to pose for photos, when he was shot.<\/p>\n In the days following, the boy police suspected of the shooting\u00a0\u201cfled\u201d from California to the Dallas-Forth area of Texas, the Fairfield Police Department said in a news release<\/a>. Authorities with the U.S. Marshals Service and Fairfield Police detectives found the teenager at a home in the area early Friday morning and he was arrested.\u00a0<\/p>\n He will remain in custody and eventually be extradited to Solano County,\u00a0police said. \u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cInvestigators conducted dozens of witness interviews, reviewed hours of surveillance and digital video,\u201d examined photographs, executed search warrants and collected forensic evidence before arresting the teenager, police said.<\/p>\n
