{"id":369306,"date":"2026-07-11T09:23:24","date_gmt":"2026-07-11T09:23:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/369306\/"},"modified":"2026-07-11T09:23:24","modified_gmt":"2026-07-11T09:23:24","slug":"bomb-threat-forces-closure-of-mclennan-county-courthouse-in-waco-texas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/369306\/","title":{"rendered":"Bomb threat forces closure of McLennan County Courthouse in Waco, Texas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/kwtx.com\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/kwtx.com\">WACO, Texas (KWTX) &#8211;<\/a> A bomb threat forced the evacuation and closure of the McLennan County Courthouse in Waco Friday morning. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">McLennan County Sheriff Parnell McNamara confirmed in a news conference that a bomb threat was called in at approximately 8 a.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cWe took every precaution to keep our employees, our citizens, and our law enforcement officers safe,\u201d Sheriff McNamara said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The McLennan County Courthouse is located at 501 Washington Avenue in downtown Waco. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Other resources, including Texas Department of Public Safety K9s, were brought in to secure the area and make sure there were no threats.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">After multiple searches of the courthouse building, and additional searches of the courthouse annex and the District Attorney\u2019s office, law enforcement did not find anything related to the threat.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The courthouse will remain closed for the rest of the day and all employees were sent home. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">This is a developing story.
