{"id":370686,"date":"2026-07-13T00:30:10","date_gmt":"2026-07-13T00:30:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/370686\/"},"modified":"2026-07-13T00:30:10","modified_gmt":"2026-07-13T00:30:10","slug":"officials-searching-for-man-sunday-at-benbrook-lake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/370686\/","title":{"rendered":"Officials searching for man Sunday at Benbrook Lake"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Officials are searching for a man who went missing after he was seen in a designated swimming area Sunday at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/topic\/water\/\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Benbrook Lake<\/a>, according to a statement from the Texas Parks &amp; Wildlife Department.<\/p>\n<p>According to the statement, Tarrant County Texas Game Wardens\u00a0were responding to a \u201cpossible water-related fatality\u201d at the lake as of 6 p.m. Benbrook Lake is located about 17 miles southwest of Fort Worth.<\/p>\n<p>Witnesses told officials that a man, who hasn\u2019t been publicly identified, went underwater in a designated swimming area near Mustang Park and didn\u2019t resurface.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is an ongoing incident and details are subject to change,\u201d Maggie Berger, spokeswoman for the department, said.<\/p>\n<p>Additional information will be released when it becomes available, Berger said.<\/p>\n<p>A 15-year-old died on June 27 after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/public-safety\/article\/teen-dies-trying-save-child-east-texas-lake-22325053.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">entering Lake Jacksonville in East Texas<\/a> to help a 5-year-old whose inflatable device had drifted into deeper water, according to the Jacksonville Police Department.
