In Canutillo, I was the coordinated school health facilitator,\u201d Torres said.<\/p>\n<p>This past school year, she returned to the classroom, bringing her career full circle. Before returning to teaching, Dr. Torres oversaw the district&#8217;s physical education curriculum.<\/p>\n<p>She told KFOX14 there&#8217;s nothing like being back in the classroom.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So, it&#8217;s just amazing to feel the energy from all these littles. Getting that teamwork and working with the parents and making sure we are doing the same thing and that they are all well taken care of,\u201d Torres said.<\/p>\n<p>Less than a year after returning to the classroom, she was named Canutillo ISD&#8217;s Elementary Teacher of the Year, an honor she said she never expected.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;To win Teacher of the Year, I was shocked because there are so many good teachers here,\u201d Torres said.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Torres said she hopes her students enjoy learning.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Have fun, have a blast, enjoy what you&#8217;re doing. This is their little job.
