Eight people were able to escape a house fire in Plano<\/a> that claimed the life of several of the family\u2019s pets. <\/p>\n

The fire left the house uninhabitable, displacing the family. Two firefighters were injured while battling the blaze, with one requiring treatment at a medical facility, according to the Little Rock-Fox Fire Protection District<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The district said the American Red Cross was contacted to assist the family.<\/p>\n

The fire crew responded around 3:01 a.m. on July 12 to the 400 block of East Steward Street, according to a fire district release.<\/p>\n

Upon arrival, crews found heavy fire billowing from the house. Flames had spread to both the main household residence and a detached garage, the fire district.<\/p>\n

The fire district said two firefighters were injured during the firefighting operations. One was treated at the scene, while the other required additional medical treatment, the district said.<\/p>\n

The fire district said the cause of the blaze remains under investigation.<\/p>\n

Several local agencies assisted at the scene, including the Bristol Kendall Fire Protection District<\/a> from Yorkville<\/a>, the Oswego<\/a> Fire Protection District, the Sandwich<\/a> Fire Protection District, and the Somonauk Community Fire Protection District.<\/p>\n
