The music video for Z-Ro<\/a>‘s beloved Houston anthem is finally here, making this year’s 713 Day even more special.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Directed by Houston-based creative production studio and team Oakmobb, the video takes us across Houston. We go from Missouri City to the Fifth Ward to Alief to the Third Ward, and back to Mo City. The video gets the entire scope of Houston while providing “Mo City Don Freestyle” with a sort of H-Town time capsule.\u00a0<\/p>\n

There are animated sequences throughout, shouts to Houston landmarks like Texas Southern University and UofH, Fondren Road, the “Be Someone” sign, and all the other locals Z-Ro shouts out in his freestyle. The video also features some incredible aerial shots of Houston at night, capturing the skyline beautifully.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It’s a celebration of Houston rap history, harkening back to the likes of DJ Screw, Big Hawk, Bun B and Pimp C of UGK, along with all the appearances from all the other Houston rap greats. The video features appearances from Paul Wall, Slim Thug, J Prince, J Prince Jr., That Mexican OT, LE$, Tobe Nwigwe and more.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The video ends and rolls credits showing some grainy footage of Canadian rapper and Houston adoptive son Drake performing in Houston in what has to be 2008 or 2009, hyping up the crowd to “Mo City Don” before letting the crowd abrousiously sing the song word for word. Then we see footage of Z-Ro performing, then crowds form the actual video rapping the song with no instrumental, not missing a word.
