Parts of South-Central Texas will experience gloomy weather conditions beginning on Monday, July 13. San Antonio and several surrounding towns are under a\u00a0Flood Watch<\/a>, and more storms are on the way, according to forecasters.<\/p>\n

The National Weather Service (NWS<\/a>) says there is a 20% chance of rain during the daylight hours, with higher chances after 4 p.m. Storms will primarily be along and north of a Del Rio-to-Austin\u00a0line.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Folks may wake up in the middle of the night to thunder. The agency says there is a 60% chance of rain just before 1 a.m. Some counties near the Alamo City could receive rainfall of half to three-quarters of an inch.<\/p>\n

The NWS issued a mass alert about life-threatening conditions at\u00a0around 10 a.m. on Monday. Some towns included in the threat zone include San Antonio,\u00a0Uvalde, Kerrville, Castroville, and Austin. View the full list by clicking here<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations,” the agency wrote in the Flood Watch alert. “Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.”<\/p>\n

Overall storm totals in the Flood Watch area could range from 2 to 6 inches, with isolated amounts of 10 inches also possible. The latter estimate mainly applies to the Rio Grande Plains and southern Edwards Plateau, forecasters say.<\/p>\n

Folks who have a later start to the morning could be hit by rain. There is a 60% chance of rain near the Alamo City (higher further north toward Austin and Georgetown) between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., according to the NWS. It will be cloudy, but still warm with a high near 88 degrees. Meteorologists expect between a quarter and a half of an inch of rainfall.<\/p>\n

After sunset, there is a 50% chance of storms developing. The most likely time they could hit comes after 10\u00a0p.m. Residents will\u00a0enjoy lows around 75 degrees.<\/p>\n

Keep the umbrella handy. Forecasters say there is an 80% chance of thunderstorms forming during the day. Most counties will experience highs near 85 degrees, and 10-mph wind gusts will make it feel cooler. Rain chances slightly dip to 70% at night.<\/p>\n

Locals could hear storms rumbling at and after 1 a.m. The low will be around 75 degrees in most San Antonio-area towns.<\/p>\n

The wet pattern continues with a 60% likelihood\u00a0after 1 p.m. It will be another day of cloudy, grey skies, with highs around 88 degrees. Relief comes in the evening when rain chances dip to 30%.
