Credit: GoFundMe<\/p>\n<p>Police said McCall was driving a 2025 Kia Forte heading west on Loop 375 (Cesar Chavez Highway) when he lost control of the car and crashed into the 2022 Suzuki GSX the couple was riding.<\/p>\n<p>According to police, McCall tried to run away from the crash before he was caught. <\/p>\n<p>RECOMMENDED: <a href=\"https:\/\/cbs4local.com\/news\/local\/police-say-79-year-old-man-hit-by-a-car-in-central-el-paso-friday-night-has-died?src=link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Police say 79-year-old man hit by a car in Central El Paso Friday night has died<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Jail records show McCall was booked on Monday and charged with two counts of &#8220;collision involving death.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to jail records, his bail is pending.<\/p>\n<p>Court records show that in 2024, McCall was convicted and sentenced to four years in prison for smuggling persons and evading\/resisting detention.<\/p>\n<p>KFOX14\/CBS4 is working to learn more regarding McCall&#8217;s release from federal prison.  <\/p>\n<p>Police statistics state that these are the 27th and 28th traffic deaths of 2026, compared to 33 at this time in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Video of McCall&#8217;s arrest was shared on the popular social media account <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/therealfitfamelpaso\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">@therealfitfamelpaso<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>WATCH:<\/p>\n<p><p>Video shared on social media showing the arrest of suspect David McCall.
