The Texas Department of Public Safety-Southeast Texas Region\u00a0is seeking possible victims after saying it is investigating a person suspected of impersonating a police officer while driving an unmarked black truck.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe suspect is alleged to have conducted traffic stops while driving an unmarked black 2022 Jeep Gladiator on US-190 in Walker, San Jacinto, and Polk counties,\u201d the DPS Facebook post reads.<\/a><\/p>\n

The Facebook post asks anyone pulled over by someone in civilian clothing driving a black 2022 Jeep Gladiator to contact the Conroe DPS Criminal Investigations Division. The post included a phone number and email address for contact. People can also use the iWatchTexas community reporting app or website.<\/a><\/p>\n

The Facebook post included two photos of the vehicle. In the photos, a few stickers are visible, one being the words \u201cWe The People\u201d in script above the back left fender. The word \u201cGladiator\u201d on the tailgate is decorated to look like an American flag, with the first three letters blue with white stars and the last six letters\u00a0red and white striped.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf the vehicle has flashing red and blue lights, pull over,\u201d DPS Staff Sergeant Mike Aftosmes said. \u201cIdeally, you’d be looking for a uniformed officer, an officer with some type of marking badge or patch. And they should be able to identify themselves as a peace officer of some sort.\u201d<\/p>\n
