{"id":373486,"date":"2026-07-15T02:47:15","date_gmt":"2026-07-15T02:47:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/373486\/"},"modified":"2026-07-15T02:47:15","modified_gmt":"2026-07-15T02:47:15","slug":"woman-in-critical-condition-after-two-vehicle-crash-in-las-cruces","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/373486\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman in critical condition after two-vehicle crash in Las Cruces"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">EL PASO, Texas (<a data-ylk=\"slk:KTSM;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;link&quot;,&quot;yLinkElementType&quot;:&quot;article_link&quot;}\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ktsm.com\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">KTSM<\/a>) \u2014 A 67-year-old woman is in critical condition after being involved in a two-vehicle crash earlier Tuesday morning, July 14 in Las Cruces, according to the Las Cruces Police Department.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Shortly before 9 a.m. on July 14, Las Cruces police and fire personnel were dispatched to the intersection of El Paseo Road and Farney Lane to a report of a two-vehicle crash.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">A 67-year-old woman, the driver of one of the vehicles involved in the crash, was initially trapped inside and had to be extracted by firefighters, according to LCPD.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">She was taken to a Las Cruces hospital before being airlifted in critical condition to University Medical Center in El Paso.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;She remains hospitalized in critical but stable condition,&#8221; according to LCPD.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Traffic investigators learned that the woman was traveling west on Farney, crossing El Paseo, when it struck broadside by a sedan, driven by a 20-year-old woman.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The driver of the sedan was also transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Preliminary information indicates that &#8220;one of the vehicles may have entered the intersection on a red light,&#8221; LCPD said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The police department also noted that the 67-year-old driver was not wearing a seatbelt, which may have contributed to her injuries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
