Police say Anthony Alexander Lopez of Selma, Texas was taken into custody in San Antonio after an investigation involving multiple law enforcement agencies.<\/p>\n

ROBSTOWN, Texas \u2014 A second suspect has been arrested in connection with a violent aggravated robbery at the Matiana Food Mart in Robstown, according to the Robstown Police Department.<\/p>\n

Police announced Friday Anthony Alexander Lopez of Selma, Texas was taken into custody in San Antonio after an investigation involving multiple law enforcement agencies.<\/p>\n

The robbery happened on July 1, 2026, at the Matiana Food Mart. Investigators say officers quickly identified evidence and shared information with neighboring agencies, which led to\u00a0the arrest of the first suspect,<\/a> Christopher Gomez of Laredo, following a traffic stop by the Duval County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

Robstown Police say detectives later identified Lopez as a second suspect. Members of the department\u2019s Organized Crime Unit, Criminal Investigations Division, and Patrol Division traveled to Selma, where the Selma Police Department assisted with the execution of a search warrant at Lopez\u2019s residence.<\/p>\n

Authorities say the Texas Department of Public Safety TAG Unit in San Antonio worked with Robstown detectives to safely take Lopez into custody as he exited the U.S. Probation Office in San Antonio.<\/p>\n

Police say investigators believe a third suspect was also involved and are currently seeking an arrest warrant.<\/p>\n

During the robbery investigation, authorities said the suspects were armed and that the victim was struck in the head before property was taken. Detectives say digital evidence helped connect the suspects to the crime.<\/p>\n

The Robstown Police Department credited multiple agencies for assisting with the investigation.<\/p>\n
