{"id":374411,"date":"2026-07-15T19:19:20","date_gmt":"2026-07-15T19:19:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/374411\/"},"modified":"2026-07-15T19:19:20","modified_gmt":"2026-07-15T19:19:20","slug":"more-than-30-animals-removed-during-corpus-christi-eviction-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/374411\/","title":{"rendered":"More than 30 animals removed during Corpus Christi eviction"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">More than 30 animals were removed from a home in the 4800 block of Larkspur Drive on Wednesday as the Nueces County Sheriff&#8217;s Office carried out an eviction.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">According to information obtained by 3NEWS, sheriff&#8217;s deputies and Corpus Christi Animal Care Services were at the property to execute the eviction and remove the animals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The owner of the animals,\u00a0Julia Cantu, told 3NEWS she considers herself a local animal rescuer and has taken in numerous stray dogs without homes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Cantu said she and her husband had been living in the home, which belongs to her husband&#8217;s mother.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Family members told 3NEWS the homeowner, who they said is in her 80s, was also evicted from the residence. They described the living conditions inside the home as deplorable.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Cantu said she rented a U-Haul truck to move the dogs before Animal Care Services arrived.
