EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 A 32-year-old man wanted on charges of sexually assaulting a child has been arrested in El Paso on Wednesday. <\/p>\n
According to the El Paso County Constable’s Office, deputies arrested Ivan Zacarias, who was wanted on multiple felony warrants for one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14 years of age and two counts of sexual assault of a child. The total bond for the warrants was $90,000<\/p>\n
The constable\u2019s office said deputies received information that Zacarias was wanted on outstanding felony warrants and requested assistance from the El Paso County Sheriff\u2019s Office Fugitive Apprehension Unit. <\/p>\n
Acting on what the constable\u2019s office described as credible information about Zacarias\u2019 whereabouts, law enforcement officers responded to the area and conducted surveillance.<\/p>\n
Deputies then made contact at a residence on the 8400 block of Villanova and confirmed Zacarias was inside the home, the constable\u2019s office said. <\/p>\n
During the operation, deputies encountered resistance from family members who were unwilling to surrender him. After a short period, Zacarias exited the residence and was taken into custody without further incident on the outstanding warrants.<\/p>\n
He was later booked into the El Paso County Jail.<\/p>\n
The constable\u2019s office said the arrest reflects cooperation between the Office of Constable Hector Bernal and the El Paso County Sheriff\u2019s Office, adding that joint operations remain essential in locating and apprehending people with outstanding criminal warrants.<\/p>\n
