{"id":375201,"date":"2026-07-16T07:39:33","date_gmt":"2026-07-16T07:39:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/375201\/"},"modified":"2026-07-16T07:39:33","modified_gmt":"2026-07-16T07:39:33","slug":"suspect-in-outback-steakhouse-shooting-arrested-in-texas-crime-police","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/375201\/","title":{"rendered":"Suspect in Outback Steakhouse shooting arrested in Texas | Crime\/Police"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The suspect accused of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nola.com\/news\/crime_police\/jefferson-parish-shootings-outback-metairie\/article_4b97930d-ae25-4c4e-a898-8902b2d59bc1.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">shooting his co-worker<\/a> during an altercation at an Outback Steakhouse restaurant in Marrero last month has been arrested in Texas, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff&#8217;s Office.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Jeffrey Williams, 40, of Marrero, was taken into custody July 9 in Grand Prairie, Texas, just outside of Dallas, said Sgt. Brandon Veal, spokesperson for the Sheriff&#8217;s Office.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He was still being held there Wednesday, according to jail records.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Williams is accused of shooting a 49-year-old fellow employee at the Outback located in the 1600 block of Barataria Boulevard in Marrero on the night of June 24, Veal said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Williams and the victim had been involved in an argument, according to authorities. The disagreement continued outside where Williams shot the victim once in the chest, authorities said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
