A new study comparing the best places to rent in 2026 has determined Fort Worth’s renter market is among the top 50 best in America.<\/p>\n
WalletHub’s new report, “Best & Worst Places to Rent in America<\/a>” analyzed 182 U.S. rental markets based on 21 relevant metrics, including the difference between rental rates and mortgage payments, rental affordability, the local cost of living, job availability, and more.<\/p>\n Surprisingly, Amarillo was deemed the No. 1 best Texas city for renters, and it ranked 10th nationally. <\/p>\n Renters looking for a place to live in North Texas that balances affordability, convenience, and quality of life may want to look at living in Plano, which came in second place statewide and ranks 12th for a second year in a row. The rental markets in DFW mid-cities Grand Prairie and Arlington also ranked higher than Fort Worth, respectfully appearing 34th and 49th nationally.<\/p>\n Fort Worth has the 46th best quality of life out of all 182 U.S. cities in the report, which should come as no surprise considering the strength of its local job market<\/a>, its high-quality park system<\/a>, and its restaurant<\/a> scene. The city lagged behind in the “renter market and affordability” category, ranking 85th overall, but that clearly isn’t deterring newcomers from moving here.<\/p>\n Here’s how other North Texas cities’ renter markets stacked up in the national ranking:<\/p>\n No. 66 \u2013 IrvingNo. 71 \u2013 DallasNo. 79 \u2013 Garland<\/p>\n WalletHub analyst Chip Lupo said the best cities for renters offer much more than inexpensive housing, a good job market, and recreational activities.
