{"id":375985,"date":"2026-07-16T21:16:10","date_gmt":"2026-07-16T21:16:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/375985\/"},"modified":"2026-07-16T21:16:10","modified_gmt":"2026-07-16T21:16:10","slug":"oklahoma-deploys-task-force-team-to-respond-to-texas-flooding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/375985\/","title":{"rendered":"Oklahoma deploys Task Force team to respond to Texas flooding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH)  \u2014 As residents in central Texas deal with significant flooding, additional Oklahoma crews are being called to help. <\/p>\n<p>Widening evacuation warnings and high-water rescues continued across Central and South Texas Thursday after days of relentless rain turned roads into rivers, stranded motorists and triggered dangerous flooding across the Texas Hill Country. Forecasters urged residents to move to higher ground as rivers continued to rise.<\/p>\n<p>Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said there has been &#8220;one loss of life&#8221; so far as catastrophic flooding swept through the region, though he did not specify where or when the death occurred. Abbott added that more than 1,300 emergency personnel have been deployed to the response and have <a href=\"https:\/\/okcfox.com\/news\/nation-world\/gallery-historic-texas-flood-emergency-grows-as-high-water-rescues-mount-evacuations-expand-uvalde-search-and-rescue-game-wardens-guadalupe-river-camp-mystic-national-weather-service-rainfall-gov-greg-abbott-disaster-declaration\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">rescued well over 70 people.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, the Oklahoma City Fire Department announced that another Type 3 Swift Water Rescue Team would be deployed to Texas.<\/p>\n<p>Officials say the team consists of five Oklahoma City firefighters and one Oklahoma City police officer.
