The Denton Fire Department announced in a social media post Wednesday at 6:45 p.m.\u00a0they were investigating a possible drowning\u00a0at a community pond in the Country Lakes neighborhood.<\/p>\n

Firefighters later confirmed that an unidentified man and dog had drowned in the pond. They were both recovered from the water, firefighters said.<\/p>\n

“Our thoughts and prayers are with this family on the loss of two of their loved ones,” the fire department said in the post.<\/p>\n

This drowning is among several water-related deaths throughout North Texas this week.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fort Worth firefighters on Wednesday found two people dead near an overturned kayak<\/a> in a private pond in east Fort Worth.<\/p>\n

Firefighters said it was reported as a water emergency in the 3100 block of Cooks Lane. The unidentified victims were approximately 20 and 60 years old and were pronounced dead at the scene, Fort Worth <\/a>firefighters said.<\/p>\n

On Monday, the body of\u00a0Freddy Ferrer Bracamonte<\/a>, 62, of Fort Worth, was recovered from Benbrook Lake, according to a statement from the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department. Bracamonte was last seen Sunday in a designated swimming area.
