Woman treated for possible broken nose as officers surrounded Briarcliff residence early Saturday<\/p>\n

Houston police responded to a reported assault early Saturday at a home on Briarcliff Drive, where a man allegedly attacked his girlfriend and then refused to leave the residence. (OnScene, Copyright 2026 by KPRC Click2Houston – All rights reserved.)<\/p>\n

HOUSTON \u2013 Houston police<\/a> responded to a reported assault in progress early Saturday at a home in the 400 block of Briarcliff Drive, where officers said a man accused of attacking a woman refused to come outside and prompted a SWAT response.<\/p>\n

Authorities said a caller reported seeing a man assaulting a woman just before officers arrived. Investigators determined the woman and the suspect were dating.<\/p>\n

Police said the suspect went inside the residence and would not surrender. Patrol Support officers set up a perimeter and tried to persuade him to come out, but he continued to refuse. Because the suspect was believed to have firearms, a SWAT team was requested to assist.<\/p>\n

An arrest warrant was obtained for the suspect on a family violence assault charge, according to HPD.<\/p>\n

The woman was reported to be in stable condition but suffered injuries to her nose after being headbutted and was believed to have a broken nose, police said.<\/p>\n

Authorities said the situation was isolated and that nearby residents were not in danger. <\/p>\n
