{"id":378040,"date":"2026-07-18T16:56:08","date_gmt":"2026-07-18T16:56:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/378040\/"},"modified":"2026-07-18T16:56:08","modified_gmt":"2026-07-18T16:56:08","slug":"garland-shooting-leaves-1-dead-police-say","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/378040\/","title":{"rendered":"Garland shooting leaves 1 dead, police say"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A man is dead after the <a href=\"http:\/\/cbsnews.com\/texas\/tag\/garland-police\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Garland Police Department<\/a> said <a href=\"http:\/\/cbsnews.com\/texas\/tag\/crime\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">gunshots<\/a> rang out Friday night at an apartment complex.<\/p>\n<p>Officers said they were called to the complex along the 300 block of River Fern Drive around 9 p.m. Police said they arrived and found a man in an enclosed stairwell suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital for treatment, but later died.<\/p>\n<p>As of publication, the victim has not yet been identified by officials.<\/p>\n<p>Garland Police said while they were investigating the shooting, they learned another person had arrived at a nearby hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Officers said they believe this second person may have been involved in the incident.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation remains ongoing.
