EL PASO, Texas (KTSM<\/a>) \u2014 A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for parts of the Borderland region on Saturday evening, July 18, according to the National Weather Service.<\/p>\n

A thunderstorm warning has been issued until 9 p.m. Saturday for El Paso, Canutillo and Sunland Park, New Mexico until 9 p.m. on Saturday, according to the NWS.<\/p>\n

Wind could reach 60 mph with quarter-sized hail possible.<\/p>\n

A flash flood warning has been issued until 9:30 p.m. to Canutillo, Westway and Vinton, according to NWS. Avoid walking or driving through floodwaters.<\/p>\n

The New Mexico Department of Transportation is reporting difficult driving conditions in the Anthony, New Mexico area with wet roadways and heavy hail.<\/p>\n

New Mexico Highway 28 was closed in both directions at mile marker 3 because of a downed tree, but reopened at about 9 p.m. Saturday, NMDOT said.<\/p>\n

NM 183 was closed in both directions at mile marker 1 because of a downed tree. It reopened at about 10 p.m.<\/p>\n
