{"id":37883,"date":"2025-11-06T10:09:11","date_gmt":"2025-11-06T10:09:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/37883\/"},"modified":"2025-11-06T10:09:11","modified_gmt":"2025-11-06T10:09:11","slug":"texas-dps-identifies-man-killed-in-crash-near-washburn-on-monday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/37883\/","title":{"rendered":"Texas DPS identifies man killed in crash near Washburn on Monday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">ARMSTRONG COUNTY, Texas (KFDA) &#8211; Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) officials have identified a man killed in a single car crash in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newschannel10.com\/2025\/11\/03\/dps-1-person-killed-rollover-crash-287-near-washburn\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.newschannel10.com\/2025\/11\/03\/dps-1-person-killed-rollover-crash-287-near-washburn\/\">Armstrong on Monday.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">DPS says 28-year-old Jordan Wampler of Indiana died after being transported to an Amarillo hospital due to injuries sustained in the crash.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The crash happened on Monday at around 6:20 a.m. two miles east of Washburn. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Officials say Wampler was driving eastbound on US 287. For an unknown reason, Wampler slammed on the brakes and took evasive action, causing the car to enter a side skid. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The car then left the roadway and rolled over multiple times, ejecting the unsecured driver. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">This crash remains under investigation. <\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2025 KFDA.
