And on the women’s side, the commonality between the two was the top finisher.

Smith first captured the 200 IM in 2:11.17, more than eight seconds quicker than the rest of the field. That time still sits well off her season best of 2:09.65 from the Longhorn Elite Invite in June, which slots her in as the 13th fastest performer in the world this season.

Directly after that, she was back on the blocks for the finals of the 50 fly, where once again, she would emerge as the winner, this time by a full second in 26.04. Nobody else in the field was able to keep up with Smith, as Avery Littlefield was the next closest finisher in 27.04.

The men’s results had some more variety, as the 200 IM was won by Shaine Casas, who continued his strong showing in home water with his 1:57.63. This time is just more than a second slower than the time that he went in June at the Longhorn Aquatics Elite Invite in 1:56.42, a time that still ranks him 6th in the world for the season.

Just behind Casas in that 200 IM were a slew of Longhorns, both past and present; Carson Foster finished runner-up, just over a second off of Casas’ winning time in 1:58.88. Then came a trio of current Texas swimmers in Rex Maurer (1:59.59), Michigan transfer Luka Mladenovic (2:03.18), and Will Modglin (2:03.54).

The final event of the meet, the men’s 50 fly, was captured by Garrett Gould in 24.01, a new lifetime best, topping his former best time from June of 2024 of 24.04 by just three hundredths of a second. In that winning effort, Gould just edged out Mark Nikolaev and his 24,16 performance, as each of the top four swimmers in the final managed to clock times under 25 seconds.

2026 Speedo Sectionals – Austin July 15-19, 2026 Austin, Texas Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swim Center LCM…

[11
132,134,133,133900,50883,58105,99678,133250,50903,58119,50906,58122
post-378844","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-austin","tag-austin","tag-austin-headlines","tag-austin-news","tag-avery-littlefield","tag-carson-foster","tag-garrett-gould","tag-luka-mladenovic","tag-mark-nikolaev","tag-regan-smith","tag-rex-maurer","tag-shaine-casas","tag-will-modglin
["GET
