FC Tulsa got back into the win column with a 1-0 victory over El Paso Locomotive FC on Saturday night at ONEOK Field. With the victory and the three points, the Scissortails improve to 6-4-4 with 22 points and jump to fourth place in the USL\u2019s Western Conference standings.<\/p>\n
\n MATCH SUMMARY<\/p>\n
After a scoreless 45 minutes, the home club broke the 0-0 score in stoppage time in the first half. Jamie Webber would find Lamar Batista on the back post off a set piece just before halftime that proved to be the game winning goal.<\/p>\n
Batista\u2019s goal was his third across all competitions this season and his second in the regular season while Webber\u2019s assist was his sixth and third in those two categories, respectively. This was Webber\u2019s 12th assist for FC Tulsa, placing him second all-time for the club behind Rodrigo da Costa (25).<\/p>\n
Goalkeeper Dane Jacomen had to make only one save on the night in his first league shutout for the Black and Gold. The El Paso attack was limited to just 0.66 xG on the evening as Tulsa picked up their first home victory over Los Locos in club history.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s nice to be back home in front of our fans, and it\u2019s nice to do it with a shutout,\u201d head coach Luke Spencer said. \u201cWe talked about getting back to us this week which is being extremely difficult to play against and good defensively, so I\u2019m happy to get a shutout and see it pay off.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt feels great to be in front of our home fans,\u201d Jacomen said. \u201cThey give us energy to keep pushing throughout the entire 90 minutes. I think we set the tone really well to start, and we needed to dig deep at the end of the game and show our character and what we\u2019re made of.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt feels amazing because we work very hard on our set pieces,\u201d Webber said. \u201cNot only offensively but defensively as well, we pride ourselves on scoring and not conceding from set pieces. Tonight, we got a clean sheet and scored from a set piece which is very important for us.\u201d<\/p>\n
