For the past six years, business development activities have operated under the leadership of Chief External Affairs Officer Omar Garcia, who successfully balanced responsibility for both commercial development and external affairs while helping drive business growth and stakeholder engagement.<\/p>\n<p>Garcia will continue serving as Chief External Affairs Officer, overseeing Strategic Communications, Marketing, Branding, Community Affairs and Government Relations. He also will establish a new International Business Development Department focused on expanding global opportunities, strengthening relationships with consulates and key trading partners, and overseeing the Port\u2019s Foreign Trade Zone and Congressman Solomon P. Ortiz International Center.<\/p>\n<p>In this newly created executive role, Takizawa will lead the Port\u2019s Commercial and Business Development, Real Estate, Business Intelligence and Commercial Logistics &amp; Transportation functions, bringing key customer-facing operations together under a unified commercial organization.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-149119 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Yudi-Takizawa.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"292\" height=\"399\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Most recently, Takizawa served as the Port\u2019s Director of Commercial and Business Development, where he played a key role in advancing strategic partnerships, cultivating new business opportunities and supporting growth across the Port\u2019s commercial portfolio.
