\u201cDangerous\u201d heat is in North Texas\u2019 forecast this week with heat index values up to 112 degrees.<\/p>\n
A heat advisory will be in effect for much of the region from noon to 8 p.m. Monday, July 20, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth<\/a>. If folks have to be outside Monday, or the rest of the week, the NWS is asking them to drink plenty of water, wear breathable clothing, never leaves kids or pets in a vehicle and take frequent breaks in the shade or in air-conditioned spaces.<\/p>\n Here\u2019s a look at what to expect this week as summer rages on:<\/p>\n Monday, July 20- 101 degrees, heat index values up to 107 degreesTuesday, July 21- 103 degrees, heat index values up to 108 degreesWednesday, July 22- 105 degrees, heat index values up to 112 degreesThursday, July 23- 102 degrees, heat index values up to 109 degreesFriday, July 24- 102 degrees, heat index values up to 109 degrees <\/p>\n \ud83c\udfac In case you missed it: <\/p>\n What is the heat index?<\/p>\n Heat index is described as the \u201cfeels like\u201d temperature to the human body.<\/p>\n When the body gets too hot, it begins to sweat to cool itself off. The evaporation of perspiration reduces the body\u2019s temperature. When humidity is high, the rate of evaporation from the body decreases, so it will feel warmer, according to the NWS.<\/p>\n Heat index can be determined by air temperature and relative humidity.
