{"id":379936,"date":"2026-07-20T19:22:11","date_gmt":"2026-07-20T19:22:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/379936\/"},"modified":"2026-07-20T19:22:11","modified_gmt":"2026-07-20T19:22:11","slug":"two-killed-five-injured-in-burleson-county-crash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/379936\/","title":{"rendered":"Two killed, five injured in Burleson County crash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">BURLESON COUNTY, Texas (KBTX) &#8211; Two people are dead, and five others were injured after a two-vehicle crash Sunday at the intersection of State Highway 36 and FM 60 in Burleson County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Sgt. Justin Ruiz said the crash happened around 2:15 p.m. A 2014 Kia Optima traveling on FM 60 was attempting to make a left turn when it failed to yield the right of way and was struck by a northbound 2020 Ford F-250 on SH 36, Ruiz said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The driver of the Kia, Clarissa Nunez, 43, of Corpus Christi, and a passenger, Diamantina Martinez, 68, also of Corpus Christi, were pronounced dead at the scene, Ruiz said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Two other passengers in the Kia, an eight-year-old girl and a five-year-old boy were taken to McLane Children\u2019s Hospital in Temple with suspected serious injuries, according to DPS.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Ruiz said the driver of the Ford and two passengers in the truck were taken to St. Joseph Health in Bryan with minor injuries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">DPS continues to investigate the crash. <\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 KBTX.
