\n Historic Littles-Martin House Restoration nears completion in Corpus Christi

This week, members of the Littles-Martin family traveled to Corpus Christi for a first look at the restored home, offering an emotional glimpse into the project’s progress.<\/p>\n
For Iesha Stewart, granddaughter of the home’s former owners, returning to the house brought back years of memories. “I am her granddaughter, Iesha Stewart, and this is the house where I spent the majority of my childhood,” Stewart said. “It’s so surreal. It feels like home. It’s been so many years. Every time, it feels just like home.”<\/p>\n
The restored building will include an artifact room dedicated to preserving the history of the Littles-Martin family and the home’s significance within the community, alongside office space for the NAACP.<\/p>\n
DeAnna King, president of the Corpus Christi NAACP, said seeing the project nearing completion has been years in the making. “It’s unbelievable this is coming to fruition. We’ve been waiting a long time. We thank the city and the community for supporting the NAACP office. I’m excited to get in here and continue to do the work,” King said.<\/p>\n
City leaders say restoring the home is about more than preserving a historic structure\u2014it’s about honoring the people who helped shape Corpus Christi’s history.<\/p>\n
“It means so much to our community and our city,” said Robert Gonzales, director of Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation. “I’m just so excited that we have the connection with the Littles-Martin family, that they want to come in and see the house that was donated to the City of Corpus Christi.”<\/p>\n
