EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 A man accused of stealing a vehicle that had been repossessed earlier the same day was arrested after investigators determined the car was driven into Mexico shortly after it was taken from a secured lot in El Paso.<\/p>\n

On Friday, July 10, at about 9:32 p.m., deputies responded to a reported vehicle theft at a repossession lot in the 12700 block of Sgt. Figueroa Street. <\/p>\n

Deputies determined a black 2021 Dodge Charger, valued at about $24,284, had been lawfully repossessed from its owner earlier that day and was being stored at the secured lot.<\/p>\n

Later that evening, deputies said the owner unlawfully entered the property, caused about $1,000 in damage and stole the repossessed vehicle.<\/p>\n

During the investigation, deputies learned the stolen Charger crossed into Ciudad Ju\u00e1rez, Mexico, through the Ysleta Port of Entry shortly after the theft. <\/p>\n

Working with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, investigators identified the suspect as 28-year-old Kevin Alonso Arceo.<\/p>\n

Last week, at about 11:40 a.m., deputies located Arceo in the 11700 block of Montana Avenue, where he was taken into custody without incident. <\/p>\n

He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on charges of theft of property under $30,000 and criminal trespass. Bond was set at $8,500.<\/p>\n
