To drink or not to drink? At Drunk Shakespeare, the answer is definitely the former. The off-Broadway sensation serves up cocktails, classic literature and plenty of\u00a0unscripted laughs in Dallas. Guests can attend the show from now until September at Deep Ellum Art Co.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Drunk Shakespeare is giving Romeo and Juliet<\/a> a boozy twist. It\u00a0features one actor taking five shots of alcohol before the curtain rises. The other five actors, all sober, then try their best to keep the performance on track. This show has been performed in New York City, Chicago, Houston, Phoenix, Washington, D.C., and now Dallas.<\/p>\n

Ninety minutes long, the show\u00a0includes sword fights, interactive portions, epic poetry, pop culture references and lots of laughs and chaos. Guests can order craft cocktails and drinks during the performance and have them delivered to their seats.<\/p>\n

Attendees can sit in the balcony, mezzanine or stage side or opt for the royal experience, which includes sitting in thrones and being the king or queen for the night. The royal experience also includes a bottle of champagne, two cocktails, treats such as caviar and chocolate and the opportunity to influence the performance.<\/p>\n

Now until Sept. 20, Wednesdays through Sundays at multiple times at Deep Ellum Art Co., 3200 Commerce St., Dallas.
