>> AMBER Alert for 7-month-old Ozana Cisneros discontinued; SAPD says infant \u2018remains actively missing\u2019<\/a><\/p>\nSan Antonio police called public attention to the case amid fears that the baby might be in danger.<\/p>\n
Within days of the public appeal for information, officers located Maximina Cisneros at an abandoned home on E. Theo Avenue, which is not far from Probandt Street.<\/p>\n
Police noted that Ozana Cisneros, however, remained missing.<\/p>\n
Investigators later announced they had found some sort of skeletal remains at Concepci\u00f3n Park as they searched the area for Ozana Cisneros.<\/p>\n
At the time, police declined to comment on whether the remains might be those of a human or animal.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday morning, however, an employee of the Bexar County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office confirmed to KSAT reporter Katrina Weber that the remains found July 10 were human.<\/p>\n
During a second call Tuesday afternoon, a Medical Examiners employee refused to say whether the remains were human.<\/p>\n
\u201cI hate to say it, but I don\u2019t think it looks very good. These remains being found, especially in the same area, I think it\u2019s very concerning,\u201d said Laura Montemayor, who lives near the park. \u201cWe\u2019re in walking distance, so it\u2019s a little scary if I\u2019m being honest.\u201d<\/p>\n
Montemayor, who was playing with her own daughter in Concepci\u00f3n Park on Tuesday, said she has been following the story about Ozana Cisneros and hopes that the baby is found alive. <\/p>\n
\u201cI just hope that we get some answers soon. I pray that it\u2019s not the baby,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
It appears Montemayor is not alone in her prayers. Last Tuesday, a whole group of people gathered for a candlelight vigil in the baby\u2019s honor.<\/p>\n
Adding to speculation that the news about the baby would not be good is new information from a group that originally was involved in the search for her.<\/p>\n
Shannon Smith with Texas Search and Rescue told KSAT 12 News last week that her organization was working with SAPD to find the baby.<\/p>\n
In an emailed response Tuesday to questions about whether the group was continuing the search, Smith replied, saying that the agency is \u201cnot currently on the scene anywhere in San Antonio.\u201d<\/p>\n
