\t\t\t\tFrom increasing enrollment and scholarship numbers to the launch of a new talent accelerator, check out a compilation of the latest news from Texas Woman\u2019s University<\/a> and University of North Texas<\/a>.<\/p>\n

1. TWU enrollment, merit scholarship numbers grow<\/a><\/p>\n

Texas Woman\u2019s University officials announced that the number of students, merit scholarship recipients and credit hours all grew compared to 2024 data.<\/p>\n

The university\u2019s total population in 2025 as of the 12th day of class Sept. 10 was 15,424, according to a news release. The student population grew by a little more than 1% in 2025, which was bolstered by a 4% growth in Texas Woman\u2019s University\u2019s graduate student enrollment.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the percentage of students receiving merit scholarships at the university as of Sept. 10 is 50.6%, compared to 48.1% in 2024.<\/p>\n

2. UNT partners with North Texas colleges to launch new workforce development plan<\/a><\/p>\n

University of North Texas President Harrison Keller announced the Texas Talent Accelerator, a program designed to better develop and match workforce talent with employers, during a Sept. 4 panel event at UNT\u2019s Frisco Campus.<\/p>\n

The accelerator aims to optimize education and job training to meet labor demands in the growing North Texas economy, Keller said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have rising sectors in financial services, supply chain and logistics, health care, film and entertainment,\u201d Keller said. \u201cWe have the most top-tier higher education institutions of any of the metro areas. … We have all the pieces of the puzzle, but we need to connect them more strategically.\u201d<\/p>\n

Keller said the current labor market data is abstract and too slow to integrate into curriculum design, and the talent accelerator aims to streamline communication between employers and educational institutions.<\/p>\n

3. TWU officials cut ribbon on new welcome center<\/a><\/p>\n

Texas Woman\u2019s University staff and officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Sept. 4 for the university\u2019s newly renovated Welcome Center at Brackenridge Hall.<\/p>\n

The welcome center, located at 402 Administration Drive, consists of about 82,000 square feet and will act as the introduction to the university for new and prospective students, TWU Chancellor Carine Feyten said during the ceremony.<\/p>\n
