EL PASO, Texas (KTSM<\/a>) \u2014 One person is dead following an altercation turned shooting in Northeast El Paso, according to the El Paso Police Department on Wednesday, July 22.<\/p>\n

The call of the shooting came in shortly after 7 p.m. near an apartment complex at the 3600 block of Fred Wilson.<\/p>\n

According to EPPD spokesperson Judy Oviedo, an altercation occurred outside the apartment complex, where one individual shot another person, only identified as a 36-year-old.<\/p>\n

The 36-year-old was airlifted and later died from their injuries, Oviedo said.<\/p>\n

Oviedo did not identify whether there was one suspect or multiple suspects involved in the shooting; however, there were no arrests, and the person\/persons are at large.<\/p>\n

She noted that there is no immediate danger to the public and this is an isolated incident.<\/p>\n

EPPD’s Crimes Against Persons unit has taken over the investigation.<\/p>\n

Oviedo also noted that Military Police can be seen at the scene, but only due to the “close proximity” in which the shooting happened near military property.<\/p>\n
