He told the 9-1-1 operator that he was unable to safely descend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">According to a spokesperson with the El Paso Fire Department, the first unit arrived within five minutes of dispatch.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Firefighters quickly accessed the man&#8217;s location, conducted an initial assessment and began providing medical care.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Although the man was in stable condition, the EPFD spokesperson said the &#8220;mechanism&#8221; of the injury warranted additional precautions to prevent further harm during removal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The incident commander requested the department&#8217;s Special Rescue Team to assist in the incident. Rescue personnel used specialized equipment and techniques to safely move the patient from the roof to the ground while &#8220;minimizing the risk of aggravating his injuries,&#8221; the EPFD spokesperson said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">At around 9:43 a.m., the man was transferred in an ambulance as a Level 3\/Code 1 (life-threatening injuries).<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
