A magnitude 5.0 earthquake in the Texas Panhandle on Thursday morning was felt all the way in Oklahoma. <\/p>\n

Some Oklahomans reported waking up to shaking at 5:21 a.m. after an earthquake in Spearman, Texas, which is northeast of Amarillo. The shaking was felt all the way in western Oklahoma. <\/p>\n

KOCO 5 Meteorologist Mikayla Smith<\/a> says this was a shallow earthquake, with a depth of only 5.7 kilometers. This means it was felt more at the surface, and earthquakes like these typically lead to more aftershocks. <\/p>\n

Residents in Elk City, Woodward, Cordell, Erick, Duke and other areas in the western part of Oklahoma reported feeling the shaking.<\/p>\n
