Midwest Poultry Services, L.P. is voluntarily recalling Texas-produced white shell eggs and brown cage-free shell eggs.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The eggs were distributed from farms between June 6 and July 3, with sell-by or best-by dates between July 20 and August 17, according to the FDA.<\/p>\n
They were shipped to Kroger stores in Texas and Louisiana and Brookshire Grocery stores in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Mississippi, along with other small retail outlets.<\/p>\n
According to the FDA, no other Midwest Poultry products are part of the recall. The company identified the salmonella risk through \u201cproactive environmental monitoring processes and\u00a0root cause analysis.\u201d<\/p>\n
The FDA urges consumers who purchased the contaminated eggs to avoid eating them and return them to where they were purchased it from for a refund.<\/p>\n
