Let’s be honest…<\/p>\n

You probably didn’t need another excuse to grab a Blizzard from Dairy Queen<\/a>. (My excuse yesterday when I ordered a Heath Blizzard from the Dairy Queen at 82nd & Indiana was that I’m fat and wanted one.)<\/p>\n

But if eating one can also help children right here in Lubbock, that’s about as sweet as it gets.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, July 30th, participating DQ restaurants across Texas will celebrate Miracle Treat Day<\/a>, an annual fundraiser that turns one of the state’s favorite frozen treats into something much bigger than dessert.<\/p>\n

For every Blizzard Treat sold that day, $1 or more will be donated to Children’s Miracle Network<\/a>, with proceeds from Lubbock-area restaurants staying local to benefit young patients at UMC Children’s Hospital<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Miracle Treat Day has become one of Dairy Queen’s biggest charitable events of the year, proving that something as simple as ordering your favorite Blizzard can make a real difference for children and families facing serious medical challenges.<\/p>\n

The money raised helps fund lifesaving equipment, advanced pediatric technology, specialized care programs, and resources that allow hospitals like UMC Children’s Hospital to continue providing world-class care close to home.<\/p>\n

Instead of traveling hundreds of miles for treatment, many West Texas families can receive specialized pediatric care right here in Lubbock thanks in part to community support like this.<\/p>\n

Of course, the hardest part of Miracle Treat Day might be deciding which Blizzard to order.<\/p>\n

Along with longtime favorites…shoutout to the Heath Blizzard…Dairy Queen is featuring several limited-time creations inspired by international flavors, including:<\/p>\n

The annual fundraiser takes place at participating Dairy Queen locations across the United States and Canada, supporting 170 Children’s Miracle Network hospitals.<\/p>\n

Over the past 42 years, Miracle Treat Day has raised more than $195 million to help children receive life-saving medical care, advanced treatments, and family support services.<\/p>\n

That’s an incredible impact from a simple frozen dessert.<\/p>\n
