The musical highlights the 1899 newsboys\u2019 strike in New York City.\u00a0Photo Courtesy Wylie Acting Group<\/p>\n<p>By Allison LaBrot\u00a0| <a href=\"https:\/\/murphymonitor.com\/cdn-cgi\/l\/email-protection\" class=\"__cf_email__\" data-cfemail=\"10797e6475627e5073637d7574797164756871633e737f7d\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">[email\u00a0protected]<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Wylie Acting Group (WAG), a nonprofit community theater organization, is gearing up for two weekends of performances of \u201cNewsies.\u201d The musical will be presented July 24-26 and July 31-Aug. 2 by a cast of 42 teenagers and a six-member crew.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Co-directors Barb Holder and Melissa Johnson said many of the young cast and crew members have already gained experience through WAG or their schools.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTheir passion and dedication shine in every performance,\u201d the directors said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Read the full story in the July 23rd edition.
