{"id":385891,"date":"2026-07-25T02:31:09","date_gmt":"2026-07-25T02:31:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/385891\/"},"modified":"2026-07-25T02:31:09","modified_gmt":"2026-07-25T02:31:09","slug":"victim-identified-in-fatal-train-crash-involving-fedex-truck-north-of-itasca","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/385891\/","title":{"rendered":"Victim identified in fatal train crash involving FedEx truck north of Itasca"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Authorities have identified the passenger killed when a FedEx truck was struck by a train Thursday <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/texas\/tag\/north-texas\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">north of Itasca<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Sheldon Gutierrez\u2011Rangel, 25, of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/texas\/tag\/dallas\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Dallas<\/a>, died in the crash, which occurred about 2 p.m. near State Highway 81 and County Road 418, roughly 40 miles south of Fort Worth and 60 miles southwest of Dallas.<\/p>\n<p>The driver of FedEx&#8217;s Mercedes\u2011Benz Sprinter, who has not been identified, remains in critical condition, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.<\/p>\n<p>DPS said the Sprinter was traveling west on a private drive when it was struck by a Union Pacific train while crossing the tracks.
