HOUSTON \u2014 Eleanor Tinsley Park in Houston felt the brief, yet impactful presence of Tropical Storm Bertha Thursday afternoon and evening.<\/p>\n
By Friday it was clear, which was hard to believe after the on-and-off rain throughout the evening.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was rain, it was muggy, you know, I couldn\u2019t go out,\u201d said Rodney Kersaint.<\/p>\n
Bertha quickly weakened after moving over the Texas coast, and all that was left behind on Friday was sunny skies and hot temperatures.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat heat is eating us alive out here,\u201d said Kersaint.<\/p>\n
But the rising heat hasn\u2019t stopped people from enjoying the local parks. All day long you can catch people walking, running and biking.<\/p>\n
For residents like Kersaint, being prepared for this heat is key.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you don\u2019t got no water with you, you probably gonna pass out,\u201d he said. \u201cHopefully, it cools down a little bit.\u201d<\/p>\n
Even though Bertha has passed, this isn\u2019t the end of the heat.\u00a0<\/p>\n
