Officials say the man was taking part in a local fishing tournament when he was ejected from his boat after it collided into a stump.<\/p>\n

RAINS COUNTY, Texas \u2014 A missing boater was rescued by Texas Game Wardens from Lake Tawakoni Saturday morning, after officials say he was ejected from his boat after it hit a stump.<\/p>\n

According to Texas Game Wardens, the man, who wasn’t identified, was taking part in a local fishing tournament when the incident happened.<\/p>\n

Crews spent several hours searching for him before game wardens, using binoculars, found him in the water and were able to quickly rescue him, officials say.<\/p>\n

The man was wearing both a life jacket and his boat’s emergency engine cut-off switch, which Texas Game Wardens said helped to save his life after floating for more than three hours in the lake.<\/p>\n

“Always wear a life jacket and use your engine cut-off switch,” Texas Game Wardens said in a statement. “They only work if you use them.”<\/p>\n
